mhya has successfully become a vInspired Awards Provider!
The vInspired awards are a recognition scheme for volunteers aged 14-25. They have been designed to celebrate the efforts and achievements of volunteers aged 14-25 in England and recognise the amazing things young people do. They are designed to show colleges, universities and potential employers the positive impact young volunteers have had on their communities and the skills they have gained through their experiences.
There are three vInspired awards:
- v10: the starter award is achieved by completing 10 hours of volunteering. Volunteers can download the v10 certificate and print it off instantly.
- v50 award: achieved by completing 50 hours of volunteering. Volunteers also need to show an understanding of the skills they’ve used and the difference they’ve made.
- v100 award: achieved by completing a further 50 hours of volunteering (100 in total). Volunteers need to continue to show an understanding of the skills they’ve used and the difference they have made. In addition they are asked to reflect on what they have learned through their volunteering.
mhya has it’s own page on the vInspired website with volunteering opportunities available and we are encouraging all of out members aged 14yrs+ to sign up as they all give up a lot of time to help out on top of their regular drama sessions at Merchistoun Hall. On the vInpired page you can create your own personal volunteering record which details activities and hours completed a bit like a CV.
We are incredibly lucky to have such a great bunch of young people that attend mhya sessions and we hope that being a part of the vInspired awards network will encourage them to learn new skills!
