HATS – Outside Edge by Richard Harris

Outside Edge is a two-act play set against the backdrop of a cricket match.  Team Captain, Roger, has enough trouble assembling his cricket team to play against the British Railways Maintenance Division Yeading East, but these complications pale into insignificance compared to those occurring amongst the team and their various wives and girlfriends.  Bob has trouble between his wife and ex-wife.  Dennis flirts indiscriminately until his wife turns up and sets fire to his car.  Alex’s girlfriend gets hysterical when she finds herself locked in the loo.  Maggie constantly wants to cuddle Kevin and smother him in her fur coat and even Roger’s dutiful wife and champion tea maker rebels against his authority and uncovers his unfortunate peccadillo in Dorking.  The play is very amusing but also has some poignant moments.

The play takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 29th, 30th and 31st March 2012 at 7.30pm at Merchistoun Hall, Portsmouth Road, Horndean.

Tickets cost £6/£5 (concessions) and can be purchased on the door or from members of the group.
